Sic. ( And be it fturther enacted, That illissues, at the request

which said bonds or stiitiilaflotisshall not he void, for want of form,.
but shall be proceeded on, ol recoveied, according to tile plain in-
tent and meaninti threof: Proided, that nothing ini this act colt-

to emancipate a certain slave thereiii named, passed Dec. 29, 1823.
Whereas it has iei represiinle in his    Generia Asstembly by the
petition of many respetaible citizens if Lawrence county, that John
Spaniard, for whose emancipation an a t wits passed tie twenty-
ninth i of )ecember, eightlien hundred and twenty-three, with cer.
tain provisions and r('strictions, is a good and industrious citizen,
contributing by his Ihabr not only to his own support, but to the
imaintaiiice of his iformei mistress, who is agid and infirm ; and
moreover,that the i said John Sini;na.-d hasa wi vt andtwo children in a
sat ie of bond age : and whereis it is the desire of said petitioners,
that the provisoes of said act shonhl le reliUed,
Section 1I. He it enacted by the Anate and House of Represen-
tatives of the state of Alabama in General Asseymbly convened.
That so much of an act, eniitled i act to authorise Rebecca Flet-
cher to emancipate a celtain slave theoein named, passed December

John Spaninrd shall remove out itof this sta;te within twelve niontls
after ie is maumittidi. nid shall lot return to reside in the same,
under the penalty   of' bliug silu as a slave by order of any
count in this state, to whom information may he iven, be, and the
same is hereby repealed.       (Approved, ecclmber 14, 1824.)

seculitly, ini the penal su inf i one thousind dllirs, to lit approved
by the judged tile county court of Alaibil' coun1tv, made payable to
the Governor heo the time being and his successors in ofice, to be
filed in the otfie of' the Secretary of state ; Conditioned, that the
said mulatto gi I Margaret, slhill it tie, aim I public c harg ; and
tat he the saidI James Johnston, will educale and imaintain the said -
