Sec. 2. And be it feithe enacted, Tat James A. Torbert, Thom-
Cotncil. aiHI. IIeradon, Francis T. Gaines, Durret White, Anthony 1. Kisy-
nard. Howell LO Rennon, and ifiram Shortridge be, and the safe aRe
hereby constituted a body corporate, by the name and style of the In-
tendant and Council of the 'Town of Erije, who shall hold their oflice

Section 1. BE it entactred by the Senate and Huse of Rercsentatives
of the Staie of Ala!ama in General Assemb y convened, T hat Lemtel
llead, of the Codnty of Madison, be, and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to emancipate a certain ncero man slave called Wich-
mond Richardson, so soon as the said Lemuel Meidd, shall have exe-
cuted to the chief Justice or Chairnan of the county court of Madison
and his successors in office a bond wth sufficient security to be ap-
proved by the county court, conditioned that thesaidlnegro mat Rich-
mopd, commonly called Richmond Richardson, so liberated shall not
becomechargable to this State, or any county or town within the same.

of the State of Alabama in General AssemlY convene, That John
N. S. Jones and Alexander P. Jones of the county of Madison bo and
they are hereby authorized and empowe red to manunit nd set free
a mulatto woman, named Elizabeth, aged forty yearsi; a aluratto girl,
tiamed Evelina, aged thirteen years :a mulatto girl named Arn, aged
six years; and a mulatto child, named Shaudy, aged three years, so
soon as the said John N. S. Jones, and AlexanderP. Jones shall have
executed to the Chief Justice of the county court of Madison county
and hig successors In oflice, a bond with sulticient security, to be ap-
proved of by the County Court; conditioned, that the said slaves,
Elizabeth, Evelina, Ann and Sliandy,or either of them shall never be-
come chargable to the ette ofAlabaia or any County or Torn theto
