Sec. J. Be it enacted by the Le-
gislative Council and House of Re-
presentatives of' th Alabama Terri-
tory, in General fssembly convened,
That John S. Divin, be, and he is
hereby, authorifed and empowered
Maoifi. to emancipate, let free and dif-
mVo. charge from the bonds of flavery.
