91-104   CONFLICT OF INREREST: Public Officers and Employees:
T.C.A. S49-6-2003 prohibits the display of band
instruments by a music company to parents of band
members if a teacher, supervisor, commissioner,
superintendent, member of the board of education or
other school officer is acting as an agent for the
music company on promise of reward for the officer's
influence in recommending or procuring the use of the
band instruments in the public school. Othurwise,
such a practice is allowable under the law. T.C.A.
§49-6-1205, S49-6-2003; Op. Tenn. Atty. Gen. (August
13, 1958).
91-98    CONSTITUTIONAL LAW/TENNESSEE: Counties: If a vacancy
occurs for a member of a county legislative body or
county board of education before the 1992 general
elections, such vacancy should be filled from the old
district from which the county commissioner or school
board member was elected in 1990, rather than the new
district which was reapportioned pursuant to the 1990
Federal Decennial Census. Tenn. Const. Art. VII, 51,
§2; T.C.A. §2-1-104, 52-14-106, §5-1-104, S5-1-111,
S5-5-102, S8-48-101, 549-2-201.
