1942. Fred Lay and Clarence Hanley served as First Assistant and Assistant,
respectively, during the two-year period. George S. Smith served as Assistant
until November 23, 1943, when he accepted a position with the Office of Price
Administration. Alfred F. Dougherty served as Assistant until he left for naval
service on September 7, 1943. Charles L. O'Donnell, Jr. served as Law Clerk until
he left for army service on July 27, 1943. P. J. Gilfeather was appointed Assistant
December 6, 1943.
