Mr. W. W. Lane,
State Highway Engineer
Highway Department
Phoenix, Arizona
Dear Sir:
In reply to your letter of the 7th instant with
respect to the erection of a bridge across Clear Creek
on the Clarkdale-Camp Verde-Fossil Creek Highway, under
authority of Chapter 65, Session Laws of Arizona, 1929,
I advise you as follows:
Section 1, Chapter 65, supra, provid es in part
as follows:
There is hereby appropriated out of
the general fund of the state, the sum of
sixty-five thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, to be expended
under the direction of the Arizona state
highway engineer, for the purpose of de-
fraying, not to exceed one-half of the
total cost of one or more bridges, together
with the approaches thereto, to be located
as follows:* * *It
From the foregoing, it is apparent, and it is my
opinion, that the erection of more than one bridec on the
Clarkdale-Camp Verde-Fossil Crock Highway is au-thorized
if it should be necessary to the proper repair or const-
ruction of such highway,
Section 1, Chapter 65, further provides in part
as follows:
Said bridges to be erected across
the Verde river at or near Camp Verde
on the Clarkdale-Camp Verde-Fossil
Creek Highway, or on said highway as
the same may be relocated by reason
of any dam that is built at or near
Camp Verde; and in the event that it
is not practicable to erect a bridge
across the Verde river at or near Camp
Verde, by reason of said dam, then one
or more bridges may be erected across
the Clear Creel, Beaver Creek and the
tributaries of the Verde river on the
Clarkdale-Camp Verde-Fossil Creek Highway.,
