Dear Mr. Wadei
I have your recent letter in which you ask if the Coanty
QuorUn!qurt of Hempstead County couo appropriate money
f£r the payment and upkeep to the sheriff for the personal
use of his automobile if carrying out certain official
duties for the county.
Ark. Stats., S 12-1113 (1947) provides

has or may hereafter make appropriation for the
payment to the Sheriff for car expense, repairs
and upkeep, to compensate the Sheriff for the
use of his personal car used in performing the
duties of his office for which no fee or payment
is heretofore authorized by law, the County Court
shall allow such claime as may be properly filed
by the Sheriff of said County not to exceed the
sum appropriated by the County Quorum Courty and
said sum may be paid on a monthly basis, or in such
a manner as provided by the said County Quorum Court.
I trust the above answrs your question.
Yours very truly,
