The increasing volume of territorial business in all departments
has had a direct bearing on the activities of the Attorney General's office.
Thli is reflected in part by the notable increase in opinion requests from
the various territorial agencies, boards and commissions. In addition,
the past year has' seen a steady growth in the routine 6itfice work of the
Attorney General, especially in the fields of transitional statehood problems
confronting various agencies, of Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Sup-
port, and in the processing and enforcing of claims against decedents'
estates. The Attorney General is required to sit as a member of the fol-
lowing boards:
1. Alaska Industrial Board
9. Alaska Land Board
3. Alaska Dus Transportation Commission
42. Board of Administration
5. Board of Examiners
6. Board of Liquor Control
7. Board of Review
S. Finance Committee
9. Police Commission
10. Veterans' Service Council
Involving substantial additional work during the past year were freight rate
hearings before the Federal Maritime Board, and the preparation of the
cumulative supplements to Alaska Compiled Laws Annotated.
The Attorney General has represented the Territory before the
district and appellata courts in a number of significant cases. There follows
