                    APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME
                    TO  FILE REPLY   BRIEF  ON  THE  MERITS


      To the Honorable Brett M. Kavanaugh, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the

United States and Circuit Justice for the Seventh Circuit:

      Pursuant to this Court's Rule 30.3, the City of Chicago (the City) respectfully requests

a 5-day extension of time to and including April 8, 2020, to file its reply brief on the merits in

this case. The Seventh Circuit entered judgment on June 19, 2019. Pet. App. la. The City filed

a timely petition for certiorari on September 17, 2019, which this Court granted on December 18,

2019. This Court has jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. §1254(1). The City filed its brief on the

merits on February 3, 2020. The respondents filed their brief on the merits on March 4, 2020.

Seven amicus briefs in support of respondents were filed on March 10 and March 11, 2020. The

City's reply brief on the merits is currently due on April 3, 2020. This case is set for oral

argument on April 20, 2020.
