The WBA is subleasing from the National Center for Nonprofit Boards ( 'NCNWc) which is devoted to enhaicing the effctiveness of organiztions such as the WBA. Ihe offices are newly renovated and very attractive The WBA will have use of a large and handsome conference room sealing about 25 and two small conference rooms for meetings Ihe WBA again has two private offices for the executive d rector and the assistant, IThere is also a work station where members can use the Job Search materia s. In addition, the WBA shares the kitchen and the workroom containing copier and postage maclines with the NCNB. I he new offices can be reached by the same metro stops' Farragut North (red line) and I'arragut West (blue and orange lines). A security guard is on duty in the lobby twenty four hours a day, which will simplify entrance for evening meetings [he parking garage in the basement of 2000 L Street will be a convenience when renovations are completed in about five months, In the meantime, there are many commercial parking lotswithin a block and on-street parking after 6:30 p.m. 5l Welcome: Lora Pollari-Welbes, WRA Executive Director Fhe WBA s very pleased to welcome Lora A. Pollari -Welbes as the new Executive Irector. Ms Pollari-Welbes was selected out of more than 50 appicants responding to WBA advertisemenits fr this position Ms Pollari-Welbes, with over six years of expcriencc in non-profit managenent, comes to the WBA from the Nationa Hospice Organization where she was the membcrship manager. In thvs position she was responsible for recruitment ad retentior 1f the associatmor s national embeship and additionally responsible for the design, writing and editing of membership publications al sk ils which the WBA will no doubt put to good use. Preyiously, Ms. Pollari-Welbes incrcased idividual membcrships in the National Hospice Organization sevenityperccnt and program memberships by twenty percent. Ms. Pollari-Welbes was the coordinatoi ot volunteers obr Minnesota Public Radio ard the Program Director for Community Service Activities at thc 1niversity of Minnesota. Ms. Polari-Welbes is scheduled to begin work at the WBA oi January 1, 1995. It also features attorneys from companics all over thc country, as well as a number of WBA meibers, discussing issues affecting the professional and personal lives of women in-house counsel.
