School and its undergraduate school  has

and their two children Nicholas and Ariel,
Ms. Landau attributed part of her ability
to handle professional and legal responsi-
bilities to the patience and understanding
of her family.   (She has addressed the WBA
previously on the subject of balancing the
roles.)

Judge Green remarked that it would not sur-
prise her if Ms. Landau became the first
woman to be President of the American Bar
Association. indeed, her accomplishments
reflect r dedication and commitment to the
legal profession, a profession which she
loves. Ms. Landau's legal activities have
resulted in improvements in the legal sys-
tem and in the rights of women. She was
one of the founders of the Women's Legal
Defense Fund (1971) and presently is Chair
of the Women's Rights Project at the Center
for Law and Social Policy, She has been
active in the American Bar Association,
serving presently on the Standing Committee
on the Federal Judiciary and as a delegate
to the House of Delegates. She is past
Chair of the ABA Section on Individual
Rights and Responsibilities. She has also
served as Secretary and Board Member of the
National Legal Aid and Defender Association.

After presentation of the award, the WBA
election results were announced as follows:
President, Susan A. Low; Vice President,
Elizabeth Medaglia; Treasurer, Susan Kassell,
