         In the Fall of 1953 thc omen's ar Association undertook the project of its

         citizenship conmittee w    i- has become not only a high point in our experi-

         ence hut a high point in the memories of thousands of new Americans. This

         is, of course, our program for providir a reception at the United States

         Court House upon the occasion of the    a-na i  ation cerenonies which bring

         our country and our community the hopes and aspirations of those born in

         foreign countries who have determined to share in the great promise of our

         land.


         Elizabeth F. Reed was there when the idea was born. She has helped to make

         the idea a reality. In the last fifteen years the Court House has been the

         scene not only of the official cereonies and oath taking but the place

         where t)e hands of other Americans ha e been outstretched in welcome and

         Elizabeth Reed has been there. Throuah her efforts and skills the pleasure

         of sharing in the receptions has spread to many other organizations who

         eagerly accept co-sponsorship w      omen      Association. Through her

         dedcatn nearly    n thousand n  c     n have khnn the warmth of our

         great country troug the  far'th  Elizabeth Reedfs siling presence.

         Elizabeth Reed, good citizen,    e salute you and affectionately dedicate

         this issue of our paper to you.
