Dear Ms. Jakovic,

It gives me great pleasure to report that we have selected Wayne Turner, a rising, third-year law
student, as the Women's Bar Association Foundation Public Interest Summer Fellow. Wayne is a
stellar student and is the Associate Editor of our Law Review. He has an immense amount of
expertise in and commitment to the HIV/AIDS community, and we are thrilled to have him as a
student advocate for our clients. I have attached a copy of his resume for your review, and as you
Willn6te, it-g akst6' the.ny. skills he brings to our clinic this summer.

Wi:ri&Was a lead organizer of our World's AIDS Day celebration at the law school earlier this
year. In addition to bringing in key spokespersons and community activists for the event, he
increasd'the lawschools awdreiiess'of the day and involved the entire student body in the
prograii.Further, Wayne:shared with us that he has had personal experience as a care giver for a
person dying with AIDS and, thus, has a keen sensitivity to the plight of our clients that goes
beyond their legal issues and concerns.

We look forward to a busy and productive summer and know that we will provide Wayne with
some terrific experience and that he will be a tremendous help to us over these very active
months when we are without our full complement of clinic students.

Wayne and I thank you for your generosity and support of our program. I will keep you informed
of our activities and will provide you with a summary at the end of the summer.

Sincerly, I

Joyce Stanley Batipps
