               TELEPHONE CONFERENCE MEETING OF THE
               WEAF LONG-RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE*
                         August 2, 1996

     Grace Parke-Fremlin, Gwen Simmons and I held an initial
meeting to discuss goals and objectives. Each of us stated
things we hoped to accomplish/address in a long-range plan for
the WBAF. Our individual ideas are listed below:

Grace

Gwen:

     All of us agreed that we should begin gathering information
and preparing recommendations in the following areas:

1.   Try some new/novel fundraising events;
2. Plan events which will give the biggest bang for
     our buck;
3. Have some events with lower prices to capture a
     different group not previously targeted; and
4. Carefully select the beneficiaries of our
     fundraisers.

1. Find different events to sponsor or take-on as
     fundraisers with a range of prices either within
     one event, or separate events at different price
     levels;
2. Carefully select events so there is sufficient
     time between fundraisers to allow time for
     planning and publicizing, thus avoiding over-
     taxing the resources of the Board and the groups
     which support us.
3. Choose events where we and our guests can have fun
     and be enthusiastic about selling the event to
     others;
4. Designate a Board meeting periodically to discuss
     and assess our goals and progress in meeting those
     goals within the timetables projected.

a:
1. Establish an endowment goal on a five-year or ten-
     year timetable;
2. Once an endowment goal is set, determine several
     levels of contributions, put list together and
     decide best time for sending out package of
     information; use professional design/printing for
     the appeal.
3. Investigate using professional event planners for
     some of these goals;
4.   Review annually our investment strategy;
5. Look for other foundation monies which may be
     available to us for WBA or WBAF signature
     projects.
