A regular meeting of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia
was called to order by the President, Mary-Frances Glenn, at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday,
September 16, 1947, in the Queen Elizabeth Room of the Raleigh Hotel.

The minutes of the meeting of May 20, 1947, were read and approved.

The Treasurer, Sara B. McGrann, read her report for the period May 20, to
Sept. 15, 1947, and the report was approved by the Association.

The President summarized her Association activities of the summer and told the
Association that the Board of Directors had held three meetings since the last
meeting of the Association. Thg2&'W n of Una Rita Morris by the Board

The President reported to the Association that numerus yomen attorneys from
foreign countries had been entertained by the Pres nqrdjiNpflTt times
and that usually there was no time in which to give all'the members of the
Association notice of special luncheons or other events in kka honor of unexpected
out of town guests. For that reason the President requested that the members
of the Association who can meet with visitors on short notice give the Secretary
notice of their availabilty so that they can be reached by telephone since it
is obviousiX that it is impossible to telephone all the members of the
Association each time, and usually there is not time to send a general notice
of such special events.

The President called the attention of the Association to the letter which
had been sent to the membership announcing the appointment of a special
sommittee, of which Mrs. Evelyn Krupp is Chairman, to study the Contitution
and by-laws of the Association and suggest clarifications and amendments.
The President told the Association that any proposed I amendments will
be submitted to the membership 30 days in advance of the meeting at which they
will be considered.

The members were urged to report any changes in addresses as requested in the
questionairre which had been sent to the membership. The President told the
Association that it was planned for the Constitution and by-laws and the
membership list to be printed in the form of a small booklet for distribution
to the members.

The President announced that the committee w appointments would be
mimeographed and distributed to the membership when the appointments had been
completed but that some appointments were being held pending receipt of
answers to the questionairres which had been sent out asking the members to
express their preferences as to service on committees.

Pursuant to the advice of the Board of Directors the question of where future
meetings of the Association should be held was presented to the Association.
The President stated that comments had come to her from some of the members
that they preferred to meet at the Mayflower but that in view of the fact
the Mayflower Hotel had advised her that day that the rental price of the
Chinese Room and the Sapphire Room will be $150 per night - except in
instances where two or three days before the meeting the rooms had not been
engaged by anyone else they might be available for $75 per night - she would
