6 Simplification of Procedure 1 (1910)

(lentlemen: The undersigned, the Special Committee ap- pointed to consider the simplification of the Nen York Procedure, make the following report: On December 28, 1909, this Association adopted the following resolutions respecting the further duties of this committee: Resolved, That the Special Committee be di- rected to adopt the amendments to their propo- sitions as expressive of the views of the Associa- tion, and that they be permitted to vary the phrase- ology as may be found necessary in the framing of any actual bill. Resolved, That the Special Committee be con- tinued with power to suggest additional recommen- dations to this Association; that it be authorized, in its discretion, to consult with the New York State Bar Association and with any other associa- tions and individuals interested in the administra- tion of justice in this State, with a view to obtaining such assistance, criticism, and advice as may tend to the perfecting of the propositions of the Special Committee, the withdrawal of any proposition which, upon further investigation, shall be deemed unwise or of doubtful expediency, and the ultimate adoption of the recommendations in so far as approved by this Association, and of the report as thus amended and perfected. Resolved, That such Special Committee be au- thorized to seek such legislation and such amend- ments of the Rules of Practice as will give effect to such of the propositions contained in its report as have been approved by this Association.
