BILLS AND AMENDMENTS
The following six Senate bills represent dif-
ferent groups' proposals for coal mine safety
legislation.
10. Johnson Administration proposals:- S. 355 as in-
troduced by Senator Randolph, January 16, 1969.
11. United Mine Workers proposals: S. 467 as intro-
duced by Senator Randolph, January 21, 1969.
12. S. 1094 as introduced by Senator Williams, Feb-
ruary 19, 1969. Companion bill to H.R. 6504
as introduced by Representative Hechlet, see
below.
13. United Mine Workers further proposals: S. 1178
as introduced by Senator Williams, February
25, 1969.
14. Nixon Administration proposals: S. 1300 as in-
troduced by Senator Javits, March 4, 1969.
15. State mine inspectors' and small coal mine op-
erators' proposals: S. 1907 as introduced by
Senator Cook, April 22, 1969.
The following three bills were introduced after
the Hearings by the Subcommittee on Labor of
the Senate Labor and Public Welfare Committee.
16. S. 2118 as introduced by Senator Randolph, May
12, 1969.
17. S. 2284 as introduced by Senator Williams, May
27, 1969.
18. S. 2405 as introduced by Senator Javits, June
12, 1969.
