           P.L. 429 -- 82d Cong.
           Ch. 530 -- 2d Sess.

On August 23, 1951, shortly after
the President signed the Defense Production
Act Amendments of 1951, he submitted to
Congress certain recommendations to revise
the Act. These suggested amendments were
considered by the House and Senate Committees
on Banking and Currency. However, they were
still pending before the House and Senate
When Congress began its consideration of the
Defense Production Act Amendments of 1952.
The President, in his message of February
11, 1952, in which he recommended extending
the 1951 Act, requested Congress to incor-
porate in the extension those amendments which
he had suggested in his previous message.

        Thus, consideration of the Defense
Production Act Amendments of 1952 obviated
any further action on the following bills.
