AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF LAW LIBRARIES - PRIVATE LAW LIBRARIES/SPECIAL INTEREST SECTION

FROM THE CHAIR:
I would like to express my thanks for all the work
the PLL members did in organizing the suc-
cessful 1986 PLL meeting of the AALL in Wash-
ington, D.C. in July. I am sure that we will never
forget the experience of assembling and conduct-
ing such a meeting, nor will we forget the new
friends that each of us made. Each participant has
helped assure that many of our colleagues will
return with real participation.
I think the size of the audience in each room
was indicative of the general enthusiasm the
membership felt toward our programs. Liza Mac-
Morris is keeping up the momentum: she has all
the 1987 programs submitted to Sally Wiant, the
Chicago Program Chairman. It is going to be a
dynamic program.
What else will be happening at PLL this year?
LIAISONS
,r Each Board member will be the liaison for
a PLL-related function:
PLL/SIS Independent Law Librarians: Liza
MacMorris; Maritime Law Librarians: Thomas
Fleming; Corporate Law Librarians: Mary

CONNELL: Thomas Fleming (includes mentor
program); Newsletter: Thomas Fleming
- AALL will provide us with the names of private
law librarians who are serving on various AALL
committees. You will be able to contact these

Constitution and Bylaws to make sure our
practices are in compliance with the rules.
PROJECTS
r The projects planned so far include:
- starting a technical services SIS
- increasing the membership
- soliciting articles for the newsletter
- starting an education committee to take care
of the convention-related tasks, such as
making sure the rooms are in order, the
signs are made, the speakers' names are
made up, etc.
