EDITOR'S NOTE:
W elcome to Volume 1, number 1 (new
series, if you will) of the PLL News-
letter.
First, please bear with us. We will be
trying a number of different things to make
this newsletter informative, attractive, use-
ful, and responsive to your wants, needs
and desires. As a result, you may see some
format changes; some columns added,
some dropped; various typefaces and/or
styles; etc. I expect our first year to be our
Shake-down Cruise, so to speak.
Next, this periodical will work only with
your co-operation and in-put. We want to
know what your interests are, any ideas
you have, any comments you wish to
make. This is your newsletter; help us
make it what you would like it to be.
Generally, our plan will be to have a
feature article, followed by reports, section
news, columns of interest, columns on the
sub-groups under the PLL/SIS, general
news of interest to Private Law Librarians,
etc. Our first issue, however, is devoted to
some background information on the
PLL/SIS (Everything you've ever wanted
to know about the PLL/SIS, but were afraid
to ask?); a short history, biographies of its

We were also hoping to print the
speeches given at the PLL/SIS Sunday
morning program at the Annual Meeting;
however, we ran out of room. We will have
at least a summary in the next issue.
