This Newsletter, a continuation of the now-defunct Legist is an
experiment in opening channels of communication within out
organization. With the active assistance of the members of the
Law Library Association of Greater New York, this publication
can serve as a means of informing its readers of current develop-
ments in the areas of legal research and law library adnin-
istration, pending and past meetings of interest, new books,
libraries seeking materials to fill gaps in their collections,
professional activities and personal progress, new and re-
tiring members, job openings and all manner of LLAGNY
      activities.

Members are urged to forward to the Editors any items of this
nature which they wish to see included. There is a need for
this publication; it is up to us to see that it is realized.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

This first issue of Law Lines with its plethora of news items clearly indicates
the need for LLAGNY to have its own newsletter as a source of relevant infor-
mation on chapter activities and matters of professional interest.

The editors are to be comnended for their successful effort but we will be
unable to continue without the active support and cooperation of the entire
membership.

We need not only newsworthy information but also volunteers to assist in the
continued publication of Law Lines.
