          PRESIDENT'S LETTER

By: Janice E. Henderson, Epstein, Becker & Green,
    PC.
Eleanor Sabo resigned from the presidency of our
association on January 19, 1996. Eleanor also
decided to resign as the Director of the Library at
LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae. She is currently
a student at New York University obtaining a graduate
degree in elementary school teaching. The board
would like to thank Eleanor for her contributions as
the President, her work as the editor of Law Lines and
her continual support of the association over the
years. We hope that Eleanor will enjoy her new
calling.
As Vice President/President Elect, I have become the
current President of our organization. The
I esponsibility of this position has come a little sooner
han I expected. However, I know my experience as
President will be full and varied. One of my first
duties is to ask for volunteers to be chairs of the
following committees:
          Technology Committee
          Nominations Committee

Both committees are vital to the continued growth of
the organization. Alirio Gomez, who just resigned as
the Chair of the Technology Committee did an
excellent job at informing the Board of the potential to
the organization of the constantly changing new
technology. Therefore, we need someone who will
continue the work Alirio started.
The Nominations Committee is also vital to our
organization. We need to find candidates to run as
officers and board members for 1996-97. If anyone is
interested in chairing this committee, please contact
me. If you are interested in becoming an officer or
board member for the 1996-97 year, also contact me.
We are in need of candidates.
My goal is to continue to move the organization
forward so that it will be able to meet the challenges
of the 21st century. In order to do this, I will need the
help of every member of the association. If you have
not volunteered to help your organization in the past, I
urge you to do so now. We can not function properly
with only a small percentage of the members carrying
the burden. Therefore, I am asking you to volunteer
to do at least one project this year.
I will try to meet as many of you as I can in the next
year and a half in order to speak to you about your
ideas and opinions on LLAGNY. I would hope you will
also keep in contact with me by sharing your ideas.

               WORKPLACE

By Eric Matusewitch
What do The Crying Game, M. Butterfly, Mrs.
Doubtfire, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective have in
common? All four recent popular films explored
transgender themes. Television viewers may have
also noticed that transsexuals are popping-up on
daytime talk shows and a gaggle of rock stars,
