Plans for the year's activities are underway. LLAGNY members will be actively participating in the Law Librarians Northeast Regional Conference to be held in Alba- ny in October. Joni Cassidy's program on cataloging, that was so well received as a LLAGNY program last year, is scheduled to be presented. The Education Committee is presently organizing five events for the coming year. These will include programs on person- nel management, New York City and New York State legisla- tion, CD ROM products, training of clerical staff, and ef- fective writing. The details of each program will be an- nounced in the coming issues of Law Lines. I invite all members to contribute to the association by attending those programs of interest to them. And bring a friend! The certificate of incorporation for LLAGNY has been offi- cially incorporated with the Secretary of State of New York. In connection with this status is the question of liability insurance for the organization. The Board will study the alternative solutions to this question and report back their findings to the association. The Board will be establishing formal committees to work on projects for the association. The next issue of Law Lines will include a list of these committees, an outline of their responsibilities, and a request for members. I hope you will all consider joining a committee and contributing to the overall function of the association. As the new President of LLAGNY I want to thank the member- ship for the trust they have placed in me and assure you that I will do my best to keep the association an active and growing one.
