Volume 5 Issue 1

1 In This Issue:

Somehow the months have just flown by since our last gathering at the
AALL Annual Meeting in Boston. The SIS has accomplished a lot
since then: membership in committees drawn up; a new committee on
blawgs formed, programs for the 2005 meeting drafted, submitted, and
accepted; and planning for the roundtables, breakfast, and business
meetings ongoing. Despite these accomplishments, there is much
more to look forward to and a chance for all members to contribute.
Coming in the future: bylaw changes, an electronic election, a new
member survey, a new strategic plan, and more resource guides for the
CS-SIS Website. It's never too late or too early to join a committee,
start thinking about nominations for CS-SIS offices, mulling ideas for
future program proposals, and submitting your thoughts on directions
the SIS should take in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you,

CS-SIS Grants
CS-SIS offered three program registration grants to the AALL Annual Meeting in Boston and
plans to award grants again to the AALL Annual Meeting in San Antonio. The 2004 grants
enabled Kevin Cook from the State Law Library of Montana, Kim Deniker from the Mercer
County Court Library, and Lisa White from the First Circuit Court of Appeals Library to
attend the Annual Meeting.
Grant information and applications for San Antonio are available at
http://www.aallnet.org/sis/cssis/grant. Preference for grants is given to active CS-SIS
members, so get involved now! Please contact Grants Committee Chair Cynthia Lewis
(lewis@law.ucla.edu) with any questions.
