FROM THE EDITOR.,
The cast of characters on
the newsletter's masthead
has changed in the move of
its situs from Houston to
New Haven; the Mexican
presence has disappeared and
the Italian ambience has
become dominant. Our
gondoliere and pizzaiolo
wish you BUONE FESTE.
Whatever languages and
whatever jurisdictions
predominate in your library
or collection, we who
provide library services
with foreign, comparative
and international law
material, do share common
problems and interests which
our SIS seeks to address
through Annual Meeting
Programs or workshops, this
newsletter and our SIS
column in the AALL
Newsletter, and our day to
day networking.
It is with the hope of
enhancing the latter that we
have appended to this issue
a list of our 1987-88
membership. By reviewing it,
you may discover other SIS
members in your city or
region of whom you may have
been unaware. Strong local
networks will form the
building blocks for a strong
national organization. You

will note a sizeable
increase in our members over
last year.
As always, the editor wishes
to thank those who have
contributed to this issue
and made it possible. Your
thoughts, awareness notes,
etc. are earnestly sought
for the next issue, the
deadline for which is
February 15, 1988.
CLEARINGHOUSE FOR
