Tory J. Caeti, editor of Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice: An
Interdisciplinary Journal, died in an automobile accident August
20, 2006, near Nairobi, Kenya. Tory was working in Kenya on a pro-
ject with the U.S. Department of State at the time of his death. The
project involved training Kenyan government officials about cyber-
terrorism. Tory was one of the lead instructors in the week-long
                     training session.
Tory's interest in juvenile justice began 15 years ago in graduate
school where he served as a research fellow for the Serious Habitual
Offender Comprehensive Action Program at Sam Houston State
University. About 7 years ago, Tory began discussing the need for a
new juvenile justice journal. He was involved in the initial stages of the development of
YVJJ. He formulated the idea for the journal, submitted the proposal to Sage Publications,
and served as editor since its inception. This journal would not exist except for Tory's tire-
less work. He will be sorely missed.
