FOREWORD


On  31 August  2019, Professor Otlhogile retired from the Department of Law,
University of Botswana  after serving the University for 37 years in different
capacities in teaching, research and leadership. During this period, he contributed
immensely  to the growth and development of the legal profession in Botswana
and in Africa at large. Prof Otlhogile's research interests were on all aspects of
constitutional law and legal history. He also contributed in the teaching of other
areas of law, including Law of Delict, Customary law, Law of Succession, and
Roman  Law.  In honouring his contribution to the legal profession and his passion
for academia, the Department of Law has dedicated a special issue of the journal
to this cause. This special issue has contributions from the academia, the civic
society and the legal profession at large.
