Volume 7 SEPTEMBER 1968 No. 1

                                   A NOTE ABOUT THE BULLETIN

The Bulletin of the Section on Corporation, Banking and Business Law will be published bimonthly
during the coming year. The purpose of this bulletin is to provide Texas lawyers with information con-
cerning current developments in Texas and federal law that directly affect them, along with short com-
ments and ideas of practical value. To assist us in achieving this purpose, all members of the Section are
encouraged to submit material or suggested topics for the Bulletin to the Editor, Professor George A.
Pelletier, S. M. U. School of Law, Dallas, Texas 75222.

Following this initial issue of the Bulletin, each issue will be concerned primarily with an area of law
within the scope of the Section. Thus the next issue of the Bulletin will deal with current problems
in securities law, and the following with corporate law. The initial issue contains the reports of recent
meetings and proposed agenda of the various committees of the Section as prepared by the committee
chairmen. Comments on the committee reports will be appreciated by the committee chairmen and should
be addressed to them. Readers are reminded that the position of the State Bar regarding committee
    reports is as follows:

NOTE: Reports of Sections or Committees of the State Bar of Texas are NOT to be con-
strued to represent the official policy of the State Bar. Reports containing policy recommendations
reflect State Bar policy ONLY as and when these recommendations are acted upon by the Board
of Directors, the General Assembly, or by the membership in response to a referendum. Reports con-
taining no recommendations for specific action by the State Bar are merely informative; they
represent only the views of the Section or Committee submitting them.

                                INVITATION TO SECTION MEMBERSHIP

For lawyers who are not now members of the Section on Corporation, Banking and Business Law but
who would like to receive the Bulletin and participate in the affairs of the Section, a membership appli-
cation will be found on the last page. Membership includes subscription to the Bulletin.

                            OUR THANKS TO STECK-WARLICK COMPANY

As readers of the Bulletin have noticed, the legend at the very end of each issue of the Bulletin
shows that it was printed by Steck-Warlick Company of Dallas. Steck-Warlick prints our Bulletin for
us without charge as a public service to the legal profession. Each issue, we recognize this service and
appreciate it, but want to take this opportunity to thank Steck-Warlick for their contribution to our
    Section.
