               and Reports of Senate

     and House of Commons Committees

The White Paper on Tax Reform was
made public by the government on 7
                November 1969. In the following
                months the Standing Senate Committee
on Banking, Trade and Commerce and
the House of Commons Standing Com-
mittee on Finance, Trade and Economic
                Affairs received hundreds of submissions
and held public hearings. The com-
                mittees published their reports in
                September and October 1970.

This Tax Memo contains a summary,
in tabular form, of the proposals of the
White Paper and the major recommenda-
tions made on them by the committees.

Additional copies of this Memo may be obtained at a price of 250.
