Mr. Mermin attended Boston College Law School, where he served as an articles editor
for the Boston College Law Review. He graduated summa cum laude in 2001, after
which he clerked for the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez of the United States Court of
Appeals for the First Circuit. He also holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale
University, and is the author of Debating War and Peace: Media Coverage of U.S.
Intervention in the Post-Vietnam Era (1999). Any mistakes, misconceptions, or
