ERRATUM
'Proportionality, sentencing and the multiple offender; towards a numerical framework'
by Austin Lovegrove

Punishment & Society Volume 2 Number 4 October 2000

Sage Publications and the editors of Punishment 6- Society regret that two copy-editing
errors spoiled the sense of the concluding sentences of this article. The last three sen-
tences should read as follows:

It is, of course, open to the charge of introducing a false precision into sentencing. But
there is a counter charge: when an analysis of a numerical problem is characterized largely
by description, there is the risk of a true imprecision. If the reader now agrees with this,
then this article has been of some value.
