Printed in Great Britain Editorial 1

Editorial

The January number of Medicine, Science and
the Law is the first in a new decade, to be pub-
lished by Kluwer Publishing Limited who will
no doubt carry on the tradition of their pre-
decessors, John Wright & Sons Limited of
Bristol. This indeed is in no way a criticism of
past service and publications and we wish to
thank John Wright & Sons Limited for the
manner in which they have facilitated the
changeover to the new publishers and for their
able help in the past eight years. In many
respects the policy of including a correspon-
dence column in the journal is unchanged, and
is a feature of many other journals, but the
Editor and the Editorial Committee wish to
remind the readers that they have every oppor-
tunity of voicing their opinions whether in
agreement with or in contradiction to articles
which are published in the journal. In addition,

the Editor and the Editorial Committee
would welcome the advice and suggestions of
the readers in submission of names of suit-
able advertisers for inclusion in forthcoming
publications.
The Council of the British Academy of
Forensic Sciences thought that with the appear-
ance of the long-awaited presidential address,
after the twentieth Annual General Meeting,
entitled 'The Medico-Legal Expert-Past,
Present and Future', the readers would wel-
come the opportunity to review the medical
and legal aspects of this address in the corres-
pondence column.
Any views expressed would, of course, be
those of the individuals concerned and not
necessarily those of the Council of the
Academy, nor those of the Editor and Editorial
Committee.
