After an 11-year stint in the job, WIPO director-general Kamil Idris
will step down this year, 12 months before the end of his term. His
final year has been dogged by allegations- of mismanagement at the
top and he leaves an organization suffering from falling morale and
uncertain of the way ahead. Fifteen candidates say that they have the
experience and leadership qualities needed to inject new confidence
into WIPO. But who is right?
