Ten years ago, the concussion issue was a modest blip in the
sports industry, hardly the crisis that it is today.

3   Former   Western   Kentucky   Swimmer Sues
    over  Alleged  Hazing,  or Was  it Bullying?
A former swimmer at Western Kentucky University (WKU) has
sued the school, administrators, coaches, and fellow swimmers,
claiming he was subjected to 'cts ofphysical, mental, emotional
abuse, harassment, and discrimination.

4   Court  Sides  with Boosters   in Battle over SC
    Parking  Spaces
A South Carolina appeals court reversed, in part, a lower court,
breathing new life into a claim by several University of South
Carolina Athletics boosters that the school breached the contract
it had with them when it altered their parking privileges.

5   Court  Declines  to Reconsider University of
    Maryland's   Arguments in   ADA   Case
A federal judge denied an attempt by the University of Mary-
land (UMD)  to have the dismissal of its motion for summary
judgment reconsidered in a case involving the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) and the deaf or hard of hearing patrons
that attend the schools sporting events.

7   Modest   Victory  Goes  to Football  Player, Who
    Claimed   He  Was  Wrongly   Accused   of Rape
A federal judge fom the Western District ofNorth Carolina
delivered a mixed ruling to Appalachian State University on its
motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by aformerfootball player
against the school after he was dismissed from the team after be-
ing accused ofraping another student.

8   Judge   Finds Coach's   Constitutional  Claims
    Are  Precluded
A federal judge from the Eastern District of Washington granted,
for the most part, a university and several individual defendants'
motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a former baseball coach,
who  alleged the defendants violated his Constitutional rights
when  they did not renew his employment contract.
