     CHIEF JUSTICE SUMMERS

  Summers has

  announcement;
  Summers said, I am
gratef u to the peop e
  of the sixth Supreme
Court District for my Chief Justice Frank W. Summers
  election to serve on the
Supreme Court of our state. My service on the court has been a
rewarding experience. After almost 23 years in the judiciary, it
is time to retire and devote more time to my family and personal
  affairs.
A charming and gracious man who is essentially modest,
Chief Justice Summers said that he will devote his energies to

Noting that perhaps the most difficult part of being on the
Supreme Court is the enormous responsibility of the office and
the unrelenting workload with the great demands on my time
and efforts. He will point out with justifiable pride that he has
missed only one sitting of the court in all his years on the bench.
And that one was missed only because he was invited by the
German Marshall Fund to give an address, in French, in Paris
  last year.
When asked what was best about being on the Supreme
Court, the Chief replied without hesitation, I have always had a
