Segal and Clauss Take Office


McCalla and Mazurak Designated


At the August 1989 Annual Meeting in Honolulu,
Herbert Lee Segal of Louisville, Kentucky, who had
been elected Chair-Elect the year before in To-
ronto, took office as Chair of the Section; Professor
Carin Clauss of the University of Wisconsin School
of Law in Madison, who had been previously des-
ignated Secretary-Elect of the Section, became Sec-

tion Secretary; Robert K. McCalla of New Orleans
was elected Chair-Elect; and Professor Stephen A.


The driving theme during 1989-1990 will be edu-
cation and innovation with a domestic and inter-
national tilt.
  Because previous chairs
have accomplished so much
in publications and video-
tapes, these projects are now
almost self-propelling. The

    Five-Year Cumulative Supplement went to the
        printer in July 1989.

    1988-89 Supplement is under discussion with
        the editors.
    Third Edition will move forward later in 1989.

  Occupational Safety & Health Law
    First Supplement is scheduled for publication

        before the end of 1989.
  Employee Benefits Law-The majority of the

    chapters have been written, and the book will
    be published in late 1990 or early 1991.


Arbitration Books

  Labor Arbitration. A Practical Guide for Advo-

      cates (formerly titled Labor Arbitration Ad-
      vocacy) is at the typesetter.
  How Arbitration Works (Elkouri)-Second Sup-
      plement is scheduled for early publication in

      1991.
  Discipline & Discharge is under discussion with
      the Arbitration Committee.


  The Labor Lawyer, under the brilliant editorship

of Bob Rabin, is now in its fifth year. A five-year
index is in process.
  Chair-Elect Bob McCalla, with whom I excitedly

anticipate working, and I will continue and expand
the availability and use of all the publications and
videos in educational avenues, both in and out of
