Dean Howard Glickstein:
I would like to welcome everybody here tonight for this
program sponsored by our Jewish Law Institute. Tonight's program is
made possible by a grant from the Lillie Goldstein Charitable Trust. One
of the persons who is a trustee of this Trust is a graduate of our law
school, Howard Gruder, Class of 1984. It was through his intercession
that we were able to get this grant and sponsor the program tonight.
There are few areas of law that are more contentious than family
law. The emotional strife associated with divorce and child custody
cases is in fact as great as any you will find in. any area of the law.
Many lawyers actually avoid the area of family law because of that. And
there are some judges who would just as soon not sit on family court if
they can avoid it.
