Spring in New York

The Section of Dispute Resolution Sixth
Annual Spring Conference will occur in
New York City at the Sheraton Hotel &
Towers, April 15-17. Embracing New York
City has been a goal of the Section since
the 9-11 attacks and we are pleased to be
headed to the Big Apple for our most
important meeting of the year.

Make sure this premier dispute resolution
event is on your spring calendar. Last year
the Section's Spring meeting in San
Antonio, Texas was a tremendous success
attracting over 1,000 participants in spite
of the fact that the Iraq war began
simultaneously with the dispute
resolution conference. This spring we will
again provide a very high quality and
phenomenal range of programming
opportunities. The Annual Spring
Conference is an essential gathering place
for dispute resolution leaders, providers,
consumers, scholars, students, from small
law firms, universities, large law firms,
corporations, accounting offices,
psychologists' offices, and others that
comprise the wonderful world of dispute
resolution.
The Spring Conference will feature:
*   Skills  Training   by   Leading
Practitioners
*   The Legal Educators Colloquium
*   The 15* Frank E. A. Sander Lecture
*   The Court ADR Mini-Conference

*   The   Forum     on   expanding
opportunities for minorities in dispute
resolution
* Almost 100 sessions organized into
practice and interest specific tracks
*   The    presentation   of    the
D'Alemberte/Raven Award
The Conference, entitled Resolution and
Resilience in New York, will also embrace
international themes, with Stuart Eizenstat,
former U.S. Ambassador to the European
Union and Special Envoy for Property
Claims in Central and Eastern Europe,
slated to speak. Alexander Boraine is also
scheduled to address the conference.
Boraine is the founder and President of
the International Center for Transitional
Justice. He was deputy chair of the South
African Truth Commission, appointed by
Nelson Mandela.
The conference's corporate focus will be
strong again this year, featuring a stellar
plenary on corporate governance and
ADR. Maintaining A Healthy Corporate
Body will be moderated by ABA
President-Elect Robert Grey and will
include Enron bankruptcy Examiner Neal
Batson and Microsoft mediator Eric Green,
among others.
Subject matter tracks this year will include:
Arbitration, Community and Peer
Mediation, Communication, Construction
ADR, Corporate/Business ADR, Court
ADR, Employment and Labor ADR, Ethics,
Family, Government ADR, Environment &
Public Policy, Intellectual Property and
Technology, International, Practice
Development and Management.
The comprehensil c brochure will be
mailed in December, but stay tuned to our
web   site  for constant updates:
