JOINT COMMITTEE MEMBERS
TWENTY-ONE leaders of the profession guided the activities of
Project Effective Justice during its first year of operation. Most of these
served as representatives of the various national organizations partici-
pating in the Joint Committee effort. With the exception of the chair-
man, their names and photographs border these pages.
Collectively, the 1961-62 membership offered as broad and balanced
a cross section of experience in the cause of improving judicial ad-
ministration as might be brought together. Within their ranks were
distinguished trial and appellate judges, practicing attorneys, leaders
in legal education, court and bar administrators and executive directors
of the great reform organizations-all individuals of national stature.
Their viewpoints were brought to bear on the formulative stages of
program and organization through full committee meetings, sub-
committee work, and a continuing interchange of perspective and
ideas.
Two recent additions to the membership not pictured are Judge
Henry A. Riederer, of the National Council of Juvenile Court Judges
and William H. Morrison of the Oregon Bar.
