handle is hein.journals/jrncpy21 and id is 1 raw text is: Editors' Note
New Editor of the Journal of
Consumer Policy
We are very happy to announce that from January 1998, Professor
Alan Mathios has joined the team of JCP Editors. He will carry a
special responsibility for dealing with manuscripts based on the
theories and methods of economics. In this capacity, Professor Mathios
succeeds Professor Jrg Finsinger who retired as an Editor at the
end of 1997.
Alan Mathios is currently an associate professor at Cornell
University in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management.
He came to Cornell following six years of employment at the
Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where he served as a senior staff
economist in the Division of Economic Policy Analysis and as an
econometrics consultant to the Bureau of Economics. The major focus
of his research is on the effect of information dissemination policies
and other government regulations on consumer welfare.
While strongly present in JCP's Editorial Board and among the
contributors and readers of the journal, until now the large North
American research community has not been represented in the group
of Editors. The appointment of Alan Mathios as Editor strengthens the
links with North America and will make it easier for prospective
authors to establish contact with the journal. Hence, US and Canadian
scholars are invited to send manuscripts and to direct inquiries
to the following address:
