From the Editor
This issue marks the seventh year in print for the Journal of Quantitative
Criminology. I continue to be very pleased with the content of the journal.
I am particularly excited about the survey paper in this issue on survival
analysis by Chung, Witte, and Schmidt, which was solicited for our second
Methods Showcase. We have other exciting projects in the queue, but I
prefer to maintain some suspense.
I would like to note some changes in the composition of the Editorial
Board. With much gratitude for seven years of help, Thomas Orsagh will
be replaced on the board by William Bowers. I am indebted to Dr. Bowers
for his efforts as Associate Editor, but I need to make room for our newest
Associate Editor, Susan Guarino-Ghezzi. I welcome Dr. Guarino-Ghezzi
and look forward to working with her in years ahead.
In addition to these individuals, I have also benefited this year, as in
all years, from the help of my other Assistant Editors, John Laub and Paul
Tracy, as well as the entire Editorial Board. Of special note is the important
role played by my Editorial Assistant, Ellen Neuman. Finally, I want to
thank the many talented scholars who have chosen JQC as the forum in
which to display their work.
