The Chief Justice announced that the usual visit to the President of
the United States would have to be omitted owing to his absence from
the city, and the court would receive motions noticed for to-day that
were ready for submission, and that the call of the docket would com-
mence to-morrow, pursuant to the twenty-sixth rule.
