The emphasis is on fundamental, long-term, systemic problems and possible solutions, in the light of empirical observations and experience as well as theoretical and multi-disciplinary approaches. The Journal's content pro- vides important critiques of policies, negotiations, or court and tribunal cases. In this manner the Journal contributes modestly to promoting peace, world welfare and enhancement of the quality of life for all peoples. The editorial board is multi-national and not tied to any particular nation or institution. The views expressed in the articles, editorial comments, book reviews and notes, and other contributions to the Journal of International Economic Law are those of the individual authors and are not to be taken as representing the views of the board of editors, the board of editorial advisors, or Oxford University Press.
