Editorial Statement

As you will see, the Journal of Conflict Resolution has moved to a brighter
and more attractive cover and format. We take this occasion also to indicate
the journal's new policy on replication as follows:
Authors of databased articles in this journal should indicate how investi-
gators may obtain their data, as well as other information necessary to
replicate the reported results; for example, in which public archive such
information has been deposited, or, in the case of multiple authors, which
coauthor to write (not JCR). The information to be made available should
include items such as the original data, specialized computer programs,
extracts of existing data files, code books, and an explanatory file that
explains how to reproduce the results found in the original article. Authors
should remove information from their data sets that must remain confidential,
such as the identity of survey respondents. Investigators always have the right
to first publication and, on rare occasions, may wish to embargo the data (or
a portion of it) while they finish publishing from it; these authors must specify
a date by which a replication data set will be publicly available.
