A NEW RELATIONSHIP

Astute readers will notice a change in the Journal's logo: it is now
identified as the official journal of the Peace Science Society (Interna-
tional). We expect this new relationship to strengthen both institutions.
The Journal has been flourishing, with a steady and even increasing
supply of high-quality manuscripts. Nevertheless, association with the
society will provide us with a still broader pool of manuscripts,
especially from the fields of economics, geography, and regional science
in Europe and Japan where the society has long been a significant
influence. We shall have readier access to papers presented at meetings
of the society, with the assistance of Walter Isard, Executive Secretary
of the society, and of Christine Smith, both of whom have justjoined the
Journal's editorial board. We also welcome the wider potential reader-
ship of the Journal as represented by the society's members, and the
stability provided to the Journal by affiliation with a professional
association which has long shared our goals and perspectives. The
Journal will regularly publish news about the society's activities.
Similarly, we hope its new relationship with our more than 30-year-
old interdisciplinary journal will strengthen the society by giving its
members simpler access to our pages. Full members of the society will
henceforth receive a subscription to the Journal as a benefit of
membership, at a lower rate ($30.00 per year) than is now otherwise
available to individual subscribers. Conflict Management and Peace
Science: An International Journalfor the Scientific Study of Conflict
and Conflict Analysis, will no longer be published. In its place, volumes
of Conflict Management and Peace Science: Papers Devoted to the
Scientific Study of Conflict and Conflict Analysis probably will be
published, largely containing some of the papers presented at the
society's meetings. Society members will continue to receive such
volumes and newsletters. Any members who do not wish to receive a
subscription to the Journal can remain in the society as associate
members at a reduced fee ($12.00). Associate members will receive
papers and newsletters, and (only) the one issue per year of the Journal
in which will tend to be concentrated some of the best papers presented
at the society's meetings.
Prospective new members should send the $30.00 fee to Professor
Walter Isard, Peace Science Society (International), Uris Hall 476,
Cornell University, Ithaca, N. Y. 14853. All current members of the
