Notes on Contributors
Joshua Castellino is Professor of Law and Head of the Department of Law at Middlesex
University and Adjunct Professor of Law at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, National
University of Ireland, Galway. He is the founder of the Annual Summer School on Minority
and Indigenous Rights held each year in Galway.
Jakob Cornides, Doctor of Law (University of Vienna), is an official for the European
Commission, where he has been working on consumer protection and trade issues since
1997. He has published on a board variety of legal issues, including consumer law,
intellectual property, international trade law, and human rights. The views expressed in
this letter are those of the author, and are not in any way attributable to the institution in
which he is employed.
Elvira Dominguez Redondo is Senior Lecturer in Law at Middlesex University, London
(UK), and Adjunct Lecturer of the Irish Centre for Human Rights (NUI Galway, Ireland).
She has worked in the past at the Transitional Justice Institute (University of Ulster,
Northern Ireland), the Irish Centre for Human Rights (NUI University, Republic of
Ireland), and University Carlos III de Madrid (Spain). She specialises in public international
law and human rights legal theory and has worked as a consultant with the Special Rappor-
tuer on torture at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Geneva.
Mr. Cathal Doyle is a doctoral fellow in the Department of Law at Middlesex University,
London. His research addresses indigenous peoples' right to free prior informed consent.
He holds an LLM from the Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway, and has over
10 years experience working as a management consultant. He is currently involved in
assisting indigenous communities in the Philippines to engage with international human
rights mechanisms.
Jide Martyns Okeke is a PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant at the School of Politics
and International Studies, University of Leeds. Prior to this, he obtained a Masters of Art
degree in Conflict Resolution at the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford.
His research focuses on the application of the 'responsibility to protect' principle to the
ongoing war in Darfur. He recently completed his field research, which was based
mainly at the UN Secretariat, New York and in the Sudan.
Guido Schmidt-Traub was head of the UNDP MDG Support Team and coordinated
UNDP's work in support of the Millennium Development Goals. Previously he served as
Associate Director at the UN Millennium Project directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs.
