Editor. Professor Dr B. LANDHEER
Number XV
November 1965
THE PRESIDENT'S LETTER
My first duty must be to thank members'or'ne Association for
the great honour they have done me in appointing me President. I am
very conscious of the responsibility devolving on anyone following two
such distinguished and hard-working Presidents. Fortunately we shall still
have the counsel of both of them as Professor William R. Roalfe has
been appointed an Honorary Member of the Association (see separate
notice below) and Dr Stern is remaining a member of the Board of
Directors. I would like particularly to pay tribute to Dr Stern's
untiring work for the Association during the past three years. Probably
more than most other members, I have been aware of the range and extent
of his services which have been given in such full measure in spite of
many other commitments.
Fortunately we retain the services of other officers also.
Dr Veillon, after three years of carrying the heavy burden of Treasurer,
has become a Vice-President. Professor Landheer, to our great benefit,
continues as -Editor of the Bulletin, and Board members Yr Lars Frykholm
and 1gr Joseph Groesbeck, remain in office.
I would like to record our best thanks to the retiring
Secretary, Dr Jurij Fedynskyi and to the Board members whose term of
service has expired, namely H.E. Dr A.C. Breycha-Vauthier, Mr Silvio
Furlani, Mr Sadao Matsuyana and Dr Jorge B. Vivas. May I next express
our sincere welcome to the other new officers, Mr Lewis C. Coffin, as
First Vice-President, Mr L.E. van Holk, as Secretary, and Miss June
Rossier, as Treasurer, and also to the new Board members:-
Dr Hans G. Leser
Dr Klaus H. Lbffler
Miss Elizabeth M. Moys
Professor Kurt Schwerin
