THE EUROPEAN MEETING
On April 24, a meeting of European law librarians who are
interested in organizing themselves within the framework of our Associ-
ation will take place in The Hague. The initiative for the preparation
of this meeting stemmed from a conference between our Vice-President and
Treasurer while Dr. Landheer, Mr. Korevaar and the Vice-President are
making all efforts to prepare the meeting.
The reasons for this meeting are: (1) The growth in the area
of European membership of the Association; (2) the possibilities for
growth of European law librarianship; (3) the difficulty of holding a
general membership meeting makes regional meetings desirable; (4) the
development of European membership should largely be based on European
initiative.
The program of the meeting is given in the next section while
also the list of those attending is attached0
A full report on the meeting will be published in the next
Bulletin.
