ETHICAL ISSUES IN THE CARE
OF INCOMPETENT PATIENTS
August 23 - 25, 1996
CEREC Center Clinical Ethics Seminars combine lectures by
renowned bioethicists with participant presentations and clinical case
discussions. The seminars intend to provide health care providers, ethics
committee members, and other scholars with a professional interest in
medical ethics with an in-depth overview of contemporary moral dilemmas
and quandaries in clinical care. In order to maximize interaction among
faculty and participants, registrants will be limited to 45.
Faculty include: Jos V.M. Welie, MMedS, JD, PhD (CEREC
Center & Seminar Director), Jeffrey Cohen, Esq., Charles Culver, MD,
PhD, James Drane, PhD, Ben Mulvey, PhD, Mervin Needell, MD, MA,
Phillip Pennell, MD, Cornelius van der Poel, CSSP, Mary Patricia Ryan,
MSN, PhD, and Linda S. Scheirton, PhD.
Both seminars will take place at the Rolling Hills Hotel & Golf
Resort (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida). The hotel offers a special rate of $ 49.00
per night for a single or double room and complimentary transportation
to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Registration fee for
the April Seminar is $ 575.00 and for the August Seminar $ 590.00 (incl.
tuition, course materials, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners and
refreshments).
