A BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER

This issue is dedicated to Janet Johnston, my wonderful long-time associate editor, who is retiring
from that position but remains on the Editorial Board.
The lyrics of Paul Simon's famous song Bridge Over Troubled Water capture well what I feel about
Jan:

   I'm on your side
   When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
   I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
   I will lay me down

   See how they shine
   If you need a friend
   I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
   I will ease your mind

To me, Jan is my own, Family Court Review's (FCR), and the Association of Family and Concili-
ation Court's (AFCC) bridge over troubled water. Jan has been a major influence in my own research
